Founded by Rice University alum and former financial analyst, Jennifer Thai, Awesome Bites Co is an allergy-friendly bake & ice cream shop dedicated to making healthier treats that are safe to share with your loved ones.

Everything they make is dairy, egg, soy, peanut, and tree nut free. The majority of their items are gluten free; however, some of their cupcakes and muffins do include gluten. They take cross-contamination very seriously, however, and have processes to prevent it. They even built a completely separate room for gluten and bake gluten items with separate equipment and at a separate time. 

Awesome Bites is best known for their no added sugar muffins which are instead sweetened with whole fruits & vegetables. They also have mouth-watering gluten free brownies and blondies that are high in protein and fiber because of organic beans. Thirsty yet? They even have local nitro cold brew coffee as well as house-made, creamy Coconut Flaxseed Mylk.

You can buy their treats on-site, have them delivered via GrubHub or UberEats, and they now offer nationwide shipping for online orders.

Caroline’s Kitchen has been a fixture of Houston since the 1970’s. Owner Caroline Cobell is a native Houstonian who has always enjoyed cooking for those she loves. Her eatery offers delicious baked goods and dine-in meal options that are all 100% gluten-free, sugar-free, and keto-friendly.

Her facility is fully dedicated gluten-free, and everything is made in house from scratch, with full nutritional breakdowns provided as well. You can drop in to buy a snack on the spot, order online for pickup, or even have her delicious baked goods shipped directly to you or your loved ones. Her eye-catching keto ding dongs are definitely worth a trip!

ENDless Bakery

Founded in late 2016 by mother and daughter Michelle and Malia Elijah, ENDless Bakery specializes in freshly-baked allergy-friendly treats. They're mainly known for their cinnamon rolls, which amazingly does not contain any milk, eggs, or soy and is also safe from any peanut or tree nut contamination. They even have a gluten friendly version of the cinnamon roll that is made from a rice flour instead of wheat.

You can stop in for a treat, order delivery, or even order catering for your events!

BARE Bakery

Bare Bakery believes that by using gluten-free, grain-free flours (like almond or coconut) and natural sweeteners (like honey or coconut sugar), they can accomplish the creation of a gourmet product that's easy-to-share with those wanting to indulge. Their high quality ingredients make for superior sweets that you won’t feel guilty about enjoying.

Kelly Cornelison started it all with her out-of-this-world, four-ingredient coconut macaroon, and has since expanded their offerings to a plethora of gluten-free masterpieces including cookies, cakes, cinnamon rolls, granola, and even ice cream. You can find BARE's goods at the Urban Harvest Farmers Market and Memorial Villages Farmers Market every Saturday as well as in several retail locations around the city of Houston.

ChipMonk Baking

Founded in 2019 by David Downing and Jose Hernandez, ChipMonk was born from Jose's personal experience managing type 2 diabetes. Tired of feeling bad after eating sugar and gluten-filled desserts, Jose developed ChipMonk's first line of keto cookies, sweetened with monk fruit and allulose and made with almond flour instead of regular flour. 

While the two started out in an apartment kitchen and then a shared commercial kitchen, in 2020 they invested in building out a dedicated gluten-free bakery space at 3042 Antoine Drive in central Houston. At the bakery, they make thousands of gluten-free, keto friendly cookies and cookie bites which can be purchased or picked up on-site or on their website www.chipmonkbaking.com to be shipped nationwide. Flavors include lemon poppy seed, toasted coconut, cinnamon snickerdoodle, white chocolate macadamia, chocolate chip (vegan), red velvet brownie, banana chocolate chip, chocolate espresso, and cinnabun. All are keto, low-carb, and gluten free!
