4 Low-Carb Summertime Cocktail Recipes by ChipMonk

Summer is finally here, and for some of us there is no better way to celebrate than with a cool, refreshing adult beverage. Unfortunately many of those delicious cocktails are packed with unhealthy sugars and tons of calories and carbs. But fear not! ChipMonk just hopped behind the bar to serve up some easy low-carb cocktail recipes:

1. The Low-Carb Marg:
Low Carb Margarita

Nothing says summertime quite like a margarita. Check out this majorly easy, majorly refreshing low-carb recipe:
What You’ll Need
  • 1.5 oz tequila
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Ice
  • Optional - 1 tablespoon for your favorite sweetener (We recommend AlluMonk of course)
  • Optional - Margarita Salt
Just add tequila, lime juice, orange extract, water, and sweetener to your cocktail shaker, give a mighty shake, and serve over ice. If it’s an extra-hot day you can also throw your ingredients into the blender for a delicious frozen option. And don’t forget that salted rim!

2. The Low-Cal Moscow Mule:
low carb moscow mule

Another classic summertime drink with a gingery kick is the Moscow Mule, but your typical mule needs sugary syrup. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered because this recipe also includes a quick guide to making sugar-free, low carb ginger syrup.
What You’ll Need:
For the Ginger Syrup:
Combine ginger, water, and sweetener in saucepan and bring to boil on high heat. Turn down heat to low-medium summer for 10 minutes, then cool for 1 hour and strain. Store in a clean jar for up to 2 weeks refrigerated.
For the Mule:
  • 4oz Vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz ginger syrup (recipe above)
  • 8 oz soda water (or diet ginger ale for even more ginger flavor)
  • Fresh mint leaves to garnish
Combine vodka, lime juice, ginger syrup, and soda in a large pitcher and stir. Pour over ice and serve with a mint garnish.

3. The Lazy Monk (Vodka LaCroix)
Low Carb Cocktails

Gotta stay hydrated! And if you also happen to be enjoying alcohol responsibly, a Vodka LoCroix is probably the easiest low-carb drink you can make.
What You’ll Need:
  • 1.5oz Vodka
  • 8oz of your favorite sparkling water
  • Optional: Fruit
I’m not sure this even qualifies as a recipe, but here we are. Just add vodka to your favorite flavor of sparkling water for an easy, boozy summertime drink. You can also garnish with fruit for an extra sweet summery treat. Perfect for those lazy summer Sundays.
