Keto tweaked Texas Treats
Here are some of the tastiest Texan treats and eats we love! We made a few simple tweaks with help from our friends over at alldayidreamaboutfood and Savory tooth so we can all indulge mindfully, over the holidays and thereafter with ease.
Texas Sheet cake:
Net carb 2.8 per serving (one tablespoon)
This recipe is perfect for all times of the year and any small/ big occasion. We are keeping everything bigger in Texas minus our sugar intake.
Ingredients:
Cake:
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1/3 cup coconut flour
- ¾ cup Allumonk sweetener
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup water
Frosting:
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup Allumonk sweetener
- ¾ cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
Cake:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Grease a 10x15 inch rimmed sheet pan very well

In a bowl combine the flours, baking powder, and salt. Breaking up any clumps with the back of a fork.

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, water, and then cocoa powder.

Bring to the boil until all melted together and then remove from the heat to add to the dry ingredients.

Add the eggs, vanilla, cream, and water. Stir well until combined. Spread into the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 15/20 mins. Until cake is set and an inserted tester comes out the middle clean.
Frosting:

In a clean saucepan, combine the butter, cocoa powder, water, and cream. Bring to a simmer and stir until smooth.

Stir in the vanilla and vigorously whisk in the sweetener in portions to dissolve any clumps.

Pour over the warm baked cake and sprinkle with pecans. Let the icing set, about an hour.
Cut into squares or rectangles, Serves 20 or more!
BBQ MOP sauce:
Net carb 2.5
We can’t forget our sauce for them holiday briskets, ribs, and cookouts but we also can’t forget how much-hidden sugar we put in our bodies.
Ingredients:
- 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce (1 cup)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Allumonk sweetener
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon table salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne
Instructions:
1. Make Sauce:
Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan. Stir together over medium-high heat until combined and starting to simmer.
Simmer until sauce reaches desired thickness, stirring frequently, about 15 minutes, gradually reducing heat as needed to maintain a simmer
2. Cool and Taste:
Turn off heat. When cool enough, taste and optionally add sweetener and cayenne as needed to adjust sweetness and spiciness.
The sauce can be promptly used as a glaze, dip, in other dishes or cooled and stored in a covered container in the refrigerator as prep for future meals or gatherings.
